The Opportunity
You will advise clients across a broad range of private client matters including:
- Wills and succession planning
- Powers of Attorney
- Executries and estate administration
- Trusts and estate planning
- Cost of care and later-life planning advice
This position would suit an experienced solicitor who enjoys developing long-standing client relationships and delivering practical, high-quality legal advice with empathy and professionalism.

Our client is a well-established Edinburgh practice with a loyal and longstanding client base. The firm is recognised for its strong reputation across Private Client, Family Law, and Residential Conveyancing & Estate Agency services.
The Private Client department currently comprises experienced solicitors and dedicated support staff operating from modern offices in Edinburgh’s West End, with additional facilities available in Glasgow for client meetings.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will ideally:
- Be approximately 10 years’ PQE within Private Client law
- Have strong experience handling wills, executries and Powers of Attorney matters
- Demonstrate excellent client relationship and communication skills
- Be confident managing a varied caseload with minimal supervision
- Have a strong technical understanding of Scottish Private Client law
- Be STEP qualified or willing to undertake the qualification
- Full support and funding for STEP qualification can be provided
- Be commercially aware, personable, and collaborative in approach
- Be motivated to contribute to the continued growth of the department and wider business
