Beaumont Legal Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded Legal 500 and Band 1 ranked law firm currently experiencing significant growth across its Rural Property practice.
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially minded Rural Property Solicitor seeking to progress their career to Legal Director or Partner level within one of Scotland's leading rural property teams.
 
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside recognised specialists advising an impressive and diverse client base including landed estates, farmers, renewable energy developers, investors, private individuals and rural businesses throughout Scotland.
 
The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued growth of the practice, helping to shape the future direction of the team while strengthening the firm's presence across the Highlands and wider Scottish market.
 
The Opportunity
 
You will advise on a wide variety of rural property transactions and advisory matters including:
  • The acquisition and disposal of estates, farms, woodlands, rural houses, sporting interests and fishing rights.
  • Agricultural holdings and crofting matters, acting for both landlords and tenants.
  • Renewable energy projects including wind, hydro and battery storage developments.
  • Rural development projects and associated commercial agreements.
  • Estate management and strategic land matters.
  • Commercial leasing and contractual arrangements within a rural property context.
  • Advising clients on legislative and regulatory developments affecting rural Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a varied and high-value caseload while delivering exceptional client service.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to clients across a broad range of rural property matters.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships across the rural sector.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
  • Playing a leading role in business development, networking and profile-raising activities.
  • Identifying and converting opportunities for new business growth.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across other specialist practice areas including private client, corporate, planning and renewables.
  • Contributing to the strategic growth and long-term development of the Rural Property team.
About You
  • Qualified Solicitor with significant Rural Property experience.
  • Strong technical expertise across rural transactions, agricultural holdings, crofting and estate work.
  • Experience advising on renewable energy projects would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Commercially astute with a strong business development mindset.
  • Ambitious and motivated to play a key role in the continued growth of a leading practice.
  • Currently operating at Legal Director, Partner, or Senior Associate level with the ambition and capability to step into a senior leadership position.
