The opportunity to shape and grow a dispute resolution practice within a strategically focused and genuinely supportive Scottish partnership is rare.

A highly respected Scottish law firm is seeking to appoint a Dispute Resolution Legal Director or Partner to be based in the firm’s Aberdeen office. This appointment offers an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the firm’s next phase of strategic development and growth.

The firm is a Legal 500-r anked practice, recognised for its stability, long-term outlook, and genuinely collegiate culture. This role forms part of a deliberate 2026 growth strategy, designed to strengthen and further develop the firm’s dispute resolution capability across Scotland.
Importantly, this is a proactive appointment driven by strategic expansion, rather than succession planning, with clear support and investment from the wider partnership.

The Role
You will work on a broad range of complex civil and commercial disputes, particularly within the Real Estate, Technology and Energy sectors. The role will involve advising on and leading contentious matters including:
  • Insolvency and corporate recovery
  • Trust and asset disputes
  • Commercial litigation
  • Regulatory investigations
  • Asset recovery
You will provide strategic advice and representation to a diverse and sophisticated client base, while also contributing to the continued growth and development of the firm’s dispute resolution practice.

About You
Applicants should have at least 7 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally gained within a recognised disputes practice, with experience in areas such as:
  • Insolvency and corporate recovery
  • Commercial litigation
  • Trust disputes
You will possess strong technical expertise, excellent academic credentials, and a commercially minded approach to client service. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to build relationships, contribute to business development, and support the ongoing growth of the practice.
