This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded solicitor to join a respected practice advising on a broad range of high-value and complex commercial real estate matters across Scotland.
The Opportunity
The team acts for an impressive client base including residential developers, housing associations, landowners, investors, and care sector providers. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering major residential development and strategic land projects, working closely with experienced colleagues across planning, construction, energy, and corporate teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of complex commercial real estate transactions from inception through to completion
- Advising on acquisitions and disposals for both private and public sector clients, including greenfield and brownfield developments, turnkey housing projects, and golden brick structures
- Supporting strategic land and development transactions alongside specialist planning and construction teams
- Drafting and negotiating Deeds of Conditions and DMS documentation for residential developments
- Advising on and negotiating Promotion Agreements, Option Agreements, and Joint Venture Agreements
- Providing property due diligence support on corporate transactions
- Supporting and mentoring junior solicitors within the team
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical capability across Scottish commercial property matters, with experience handling transactions independently and managing client relationships effectively.
You will possess:
- A minimum of 6 years’ PQE within commercial real estate
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Experience across development, investment, asset management, or corporate support transactions
- A commercially focused and solutions-driven approach
- The ability to manage competing priorities within a busy practice environment
- Strong attention to detail and sound risk awareness
